ASAP Heralds New Era

ASAP welcomed the 2018 New Year by heralding a new chapter in its continuing story as the nationwide leader in Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) services. On January 2, 2018, COO Laura Lacey Dashner, LCSW, became the new ASAP CEO! ASAP founder and CEO from 1997 – 2017, Dr. Reed Morrison, assumed a new role as Research and Clinical Consultant.

Ms. Dashner came to ASAP in 2003 and began her 15-year tenure as a Case Manager. She worked in every department and familiarized herself with nearly every position before earning the COO spot in 2014. Ms. Dashner’s oversight of operations, systems development and strategic planning resulted in three years of unprecedented ASAP growth. Ms. Dashner is credentialed as a Department of Transportation (DOT) Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) and a Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Substance Abuse Expert (SAE). She is a nationally recognized speaker and educator.  Ms. Dashner has presented at annual conferences of the Substance Abuse Program Administrators Association (SAPAA), the Drug and Alcohol Testing Industry Association (DATIA), the Employee Assistance Professionals Association (EAPA), the Texas Association of Addiction Professionals (TAAP) and the National Lifestyle Intervention Conference. In addition, she has taught at the Cape Cod Symposium on Addiction Disorders. ASAP, under Ms. Dashner’s leadership, is primed for a new era of growth and service.

ASAP also celebrates the 2018 promotion of Sandra Serrano to the position of Chief Development Officer (CDO). Ms. Serrano joined ASAP in 2013 as the Account Manager and has been the driving force behind the Sales and Marketing Department’s spectacular growth. Ms. Serrano has over 16 years of experience in substance risk management, testing program management, and software and product development. She is an active member of the Substance Abuse Program Administrators Association (SAPAA) Drug and Alcohol Testing Industry Association (DATIA), staying abreast of industry changes. She is on the SAPAA Board of Directors, International Committee, Regulatory Committee, and chairs the Membership Committee.
