Drivers in "prohibited" status on the FMCSA Clearinghouse will have their commercial driving privileges downgraded until they comply with the RTD Process.

FMCSA Encourages Carriers to Update Registration

Earlier this month the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration distributed an email reminding carriers that every two years, they are required to update their information as part of the Unified Registration System (URS) regulation.  The requirement applies to all entities under the administration’s jurisdiction including companies that have not changed their information, has ceased interstate operations since the last update, or are no longer in business and have not notified the FMCSA.

The notice warned, “Failure to complete a Biennial Update may result in deactivation of your USDOT number and civil penalties of up to $1,000 per day, not to exceed $10,000.”

Carriers can complete the biennial update online via the FMCSA Registration Website.
