ASAP CEO, Reed Morrison, Ph.D. in collaboration with Robert L. DuPont, M.D. co-authored an article on The New Paradigm and the DOT/SAP Process. The feature article proposes that the DOT SAP Process “could improve its already good outcomes by intensifying and extending follow-up testing where clinically appropriate…Substance Abuse Professionals can exploit the full potential of the DOT/SAP process by increasing the frequency of unannounced follow up tests and using the full 5-year testing term.”
The New Paradigm is a set of research standards based on programs designed to manage the care of individuals whose substance use can threaten public safety. The standard is based on intensive and extensive drug and alcohol testing.
Dr. DuPont is the president of the Institute for Behavior and Health, and executive vice president of Bensinger, DuPont & Associates, and co-author of the New Paradigm for Long-Term Recovery (DuPont & Humphreys, 2011)
